Summary: Einstein is saying that the Being that created everything is mysterious and that people that are trying to be like Him try to live ethically. Many people try to live ethically, and he says that an ethical person shows the values of love, compassion, and moral goodness. He also says that if one wants to live rightly and justly, they need to hold firm to these things and practice them, and someone who does realizes what a bad circumstance the world is in.
Response: My response to this is that I agree with it completely. The person who realizes that the Creator is a mysterious person can truly grasp how powerful He must be. This will also help in being able to live justly. I completely agree that a person needs to be full of love, compassion, and goodness, because it gives someone an honest look on the world. That translates into someone realizing what bad shape the world is in. That further translates into thinking about how he can change the world by doing what he can to help it out.
The way you translated the meaning of this essay is very straight forward. You have a grasp on much of what Einstein wanted to come across. It is also very well written.
ReplyDeleteVery nice summary of the essay. You have a nice way of hitting the important points and blending them with what you also believe. Well written, nice job.
